Why Does God Allow Evil?

This question is one of the most troubling for the human mind. However, we usually ask this question with a hurting, angry, losing consciousness—that is, with our human emotions. But have we ever tried to think from God’s mind?

What are God’s feelings? How do the concepts of “good” and “evil” gain meaning for Him? When we look at religious texts, we encounter a portrait of God who is angry and merciful. But which one is more dominant?

If there is no concept of evil in God; if it is uncreated and abstract, how did evil emerge in humans? We know “good” from God, but why do we learn evil from humans?

If God does not possess this attribute, how could the human He created bring evil into existence from nothing?

When we look at countless sufferings and oppressions in the world, why does God, who has infinite power to fix everything, allow this? Even if He will grant paradise in another life, is the oppression experienced here legitimate? And will these experiences be erased in the other life?

One of the deepest cries of humans is the meaningful phrase uttered from the lips of Jesus on the cross:“Eli, eli, lema sabaktani?” — “My God, my God, why have you forsaken me?”This phrase may be the clearest and most painful rebellion directed at the God who allows evil.

And this brings along the question:Is God evil?

Is God made God by being unquestionable? Or is it that questioning is forbidden even if there are unethical things for us?
